Welcome To Renew Port Holdings
Renew Port Holdings was founded by Port Washington, WI resident Gertjan van den Broek. His long-held belief is that people who live and work in a community should own their community. With a focus on community-based, sustainable development and preserving and building on the unique features within the Port Washington community, Renew Port Holdings works to stem the tide of uncontrolled outside development that has robbed so many communities of their independence and character.
“Change is inevitable. What that change looks like is not. Renew Port Holdings is not a traditional business, but it is a vehicle for investing and revitalizing our hometown.”

First Principles
City of Port Washington
It’s our home … and home is much more than the house you live in
Downtown
There are many people that live in Port and are engaged in Port. The Historical Society. The Gardening Club. Main Street. City Committees & Boards & Commissions. My specific area of engagement is downtown. Downtowns are the hearts of communities – where it all started
People
My efforts are focused on getting people downtown. Residents, businesses, visitors. It is what occupies the bricks & mortar that gives life to a downtown. People bring people.
Off-peak
We do not have a summer economic challenge. We have an off-peak challenge. Getting people downtown beyond the summer months is the challenge that warrants attention
